The professional boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) worlds were alight this past week, featuring major title changes, dominant performances, and thrilling finishes across the globe.
In a monumental upset that shook the MMA landscape, Justin Gaethje claimed the undisputed UFC lightweight title by defeating Ilia Topuria via TKO in the fourth round. The highly anticipated bout, held on Sunday, June 14th, at UFC Freedom 250 on the White House lawn in Washington D.C., saw Topuria's corner stop the fight after a grueling contest. The same event also witnessed Ciryl Gane become the interim UFC heavyweight champion, stopping Alex Pereira with strikes in the second round. Fan favorite Sean O'Malley delivered a highlight-reel knockout, dispatching Aiemann Zahabi with a powerful right hand in the second round. Rising star Bo Nickal continued his impressive ascent, securing a first-round TKO victory over Kyle Daukaus.
